DSST St. Croix Youth Project                       

The St. Croix Youth Advisory Council (SCYAC) members and Denver School of Science and Technology High School Civic Actors (DSSTCA) collaborated to provide a very successful Social Action Graphic Design workshop in June 2018, hosted at the University of the Virgin Islands St. Croix campus.

Colorado Futuretek’s board members and friends donated 10 new Windows 10 laptops with Paint 3D and MS Office 2016 software to support this event and to provide much-needed ongoing educational resources to the youth of St. Croix, who are still impacted by the very slow recovery from hurricane Maria.  Colorado Futuretek’s involvement was an outgrowth of the Computer Networking Elective classes that we teach at DSST Stapleton, and one of our students was instrumental in configuring the laptops on site in St. Croix.

The laptops are available for ongoing student use in library space at the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts, which provides a safe, creative place for students to learn and explore.
