Our STEAM! Summer program introduced students in Grades 5-8 to Paint 3D, Minecraft programming, and financial literacy in a fun and interactive way. High school readiness is included for 7th & 8th grade students, putting them ahead of the crowd. In 2024, students built a 3D Ocean diorama—all from scratch. Students learned the basics of 3-dimensional design in Microsoft Paint 3D, how to use the tools to import, rotate, and place objects along a 3D plane.

Coding basics with Minecraft.

Students got an introductory experience with coding and computer science from Minecraft Hour of Code tutorials at Code.org. These tutorials taught students basic commands, loops, while statements, and do statements. Each student had to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles with code to make it to the end.
